Day 415

Scrub...
It was already about 8pm and I realised that I hadn't taken a pic for today. All the kids had a bath tonight and I was thinking about how I use cheapy Caress body wash, but the girls only use Bath and Body Works shower gel. How backwards is that?

Day 414

Eleven...
Today my first baby is eleven years old. Just yesterday she was no bigger than a football in her daddy's arms. What happened? She is growing up so fast, I don't know whether to laugh or cry. When she got home from school, we tricked her with no balloons or cards or presents, just a simple "Happy Birthday, how was your day?" Then, we told her that she needed to change for dinner out of the Abercrombie athletics she was wearing and that she also needed to put some laundry away I had left on her bed. The wonderful girl she is, she just said, "ok, no problem" with a smile on her face. About a minute and a half later we heard the screams. She had just seen what me and T had been doing all day, updating her room with all new linens and things. She flew down the stairs to give us big squeezes and then went back up to change. She hadn't gotten to the laundry yet. Then we heard them again; more screams after discovering the "laundry" was a mountain of new clothes and some more Webkinz to add to her growing collection. She decided on a new outfit for dinner at her favorite Italian restaraunt with all the grandparents and her bff (and family) in attendance. It's the same place she picked last year (she loves their calamari) and we had the same table so we were sure to all sit in the exact same spots! Happy Birthday to my little Irish girl. I love watching you turn into the person He created you to be.

Ahh, this one hurts but when she saw it, she said, "mom, I need my roots done." Shoot me, please.
A birthday phone call. One of many.
She had cake at the restaraunt and then we went for ice cream. It's a wonder she ever got to sleep tonight!

Day 413

Brain food...
Mine anyway. I am the junk food queen! I swear, this is my lunch and nothing gets on T's nerves more than seeing me eat it. I am such a good example of the opposite of nutrition! Look away, kids, look away!

Day 412b

What I love...
Every profession has it's niche and more and more I am finding that in phototgraphy, mine is couples. I absolutely love to photograph engaged couples. I have driven to College Station, Herman Park, downtown Tomball, Magnolia, Midtown Houston, you name it because I want to photograph them in a way that speaks to who they are and what they're about. Sometimes that's in a location and sometimes it's in the way I shoot them. Today's couple was all about romance for me and I think it fit them perfectly.

Day 412

Peeps & sweets...
I went to Target with M the other day and she was begging for some Peeps. I had no idea they came in colors now! Wouldn't you know they had the correct color for all of the peep-eating crew (of which I am not a member)? The only color you can't see in this pic is the purple (yes, purple) ones for L.
MMMMM....Reese's peanut butter eggs. All for mommy! They have to be in a coffee mug separate from the rest of candy since L is allergic.

Day 411

Power play...
This is the last game of the season that I will get to see so I wanted to make sure that I got some shots of M in action. Her coach has been so incredible and I have seen a great improvement in the way she plays. She is itching to start year-round volleyball, but we are holding her off until next year.

Day 410

Really tired...
I cleaned and proofed and then cleaned some more today and I am whooped. It always seems that Fridays are the days that I neglect the camera. Probably because I know a long weekend of shooting lies ahead and this weekend is no different. I have a beautiful bride and fun-filled engagement session coming up.
