Day 28

Cowboy Up...

Today was Cole's Go Texan Day at school so yesterday we went out boot shoppin! Dads...lock up your daughters!!YEEEEEEHAW!

Day 27

New Friends...

Straight away when the girls got off the bus, we went to the pet shop for a new fish.

Meet Pearl. He is very billowy and sophisticated. Lauren picked him first and then remembered that her bowl would fit two with the blue divider in the middle. Sooo....

Meet Violet. He is much more aggressive and spunky. Yes, these are very feminine names for Male Japanese Fishing fish, but Lauren likes to name them by color. I know in this pic he looks very red, but he really is purple. I wonder if that flower was reflecting on him or if my white balance really is that bad! Here's hoping these two fellas can stay alive for a while!

Day 26

Tragedy...

Today was a sad day for little Lauren. Her beloved fish, Rose, passed away. My poor baby cried and cried for about 45 minutes until her little face was blotchy and her eyes were red. Her big sister was great though; she played dolls and watched a movie with her to help make her feel better. The memorial is scheduled for after daddy gets home.

Day 25

What will Cole be??...


In contruction?? Maybe. He took great care in creating homes for his Thomas trains with daddy.


Demolition? Possibly. He had a blast destroying those homes with his remote control Hummer.

Ahhh, Filmmaking! Yes, that's it! This way he can enjoy both building & destroying over and over again! How ironic that tonight is the Oscars..maybe we have a contender!

Day 24

Going, Going, Gone...

I almost forgot today, but then I saw Cole asleep on the computer and knew I had to have a pic of that. Kids are so funny. When they are out of juice, that's it; they're down for the count! He always has a least one car and his faithful stuffed animal Dobie with him.

Pretty Puppy...

Molly went to the groomers today and is looking smashing in her new aquamarine tennis sweater in honor of Meg's bday in March! She is so pretty when she is clean.

Day 22

Waiting...

Cole was expecting a little friend over today and planned to wait by the window until she arrived. We went to Sam's earlier and he had saved out some of the baby's breath from the roses I bought especially to give to her.

Day 21

Homework...

Lauren loves to practice her sightwords and now she is almost half way through the 1st grade list!! She is so desperate to read like her big sister.


Meg's was a little harder tonight. She had a crossword puzzle about the solar system and she had to look up the answers on her own. Its a good thing science is one of her favorite subects or it would've been a long night. She is an amazing kid.

Day 20

Bubble Dancin...

For fun today, Cole decided he wanted to play in the bathtub while I cleaned. It worked out really well, he needed a bath and I needed to clean the girls' counters and mirrors! I love it when things work out that way! It didn't last long, though before he got so cold he little teeth were chattering and he was ready to get out! ;D

Day 19

Monday, Monday...

Ok, so I flaked out over the weekend, but you would too if your wonderful parents took your THREE kids for the ENTIRE weekend!!! Moving on...my Baby Legs came in today (well, really they came in on Saturday, but I just check the mail today..haha) and they are SOOO stinkin cute! I can't wait for Lauren to try them on!

BRRRR...

This may be the last time Cole wears this coat (fingers crossed) so I decided to snap a few. You can see he was just thrilled to help me out. I know one day his wife will thank me for taking all these pictures!!

Day 14

Valentine's Day...

Yesterday was a very busy day in this house so no time to post. Unfortunately, there is only one pic too. I wish I had thought to bring my camera with me to get a picture of Meg's desk at school Tues. night. All the 4th grade mom's decorated their kids' desks the night before Valentine's as a surprise. Meg said all the kids were shocked!

This was Lauren playing bingo at her class party. She loved it, but was dying to go to Meg's party to see what the big kids were doing!

Day 13

Oh my goodness, they are so sweet at this age. Filling out there little Valentine's Day cards. Cole was determined to fill his out on his own and he worked really hard on his "E"s. Tomorrow is his pizza party at school

Lauren is so excited about her party tomorrow. She addressed her cards all by herself and could even spell several of her friends' names on her own. Megan is looking forward to her party too, but she was a little less than thrilled at the idea of my taking her picture tonight...haha. Maybe I will have better luck tomorrow.

Laundry Day...

Still gloomy, still wet and to add to all the glumness...its MONDAY...yech. Monday is laundry day and making laundry photographically interesting is not easy.

Thank Heaven for Little Girls...

Yesterday was a very busy day, so I didn't get a chance to post these. I just love my girls's bathroom, its so....GIRLY!! Every time I walk in this bathroom, I am struck by the fact that I have two daughters; its still a little hard to believe. All of their little things, bracelets, earings, perfume... and the necklace they both have that sums up how me and their daddy feel about them both.

Checkers Anyone?...

Still too gloomy and cold to play outside today, but perfect checkers weather! Little boo and daddy played this morning and it was tied, one win a piece! Of course, she played the pink checkers.

I just love her little game face!! She is so focused and determined!

Write Out Loud...

Hello, my name is Kris and I am addicted to Sharpies. Feeling totally uninspired today because of the dreary cold weather and my task of backing up sessions from last year, I looked to my friendly colorful Sharpies sitting on my desk. Maybe they will add some color someone else's gray day.

Day 8

For tonight, I really wanted to just capture a slice of our life as it was happening. I know that sounds a little corny, but I tried to give the mundane a unique spin...

Another pasta night, tonight. With all the work Travis & I have been doing, its been mostly fast food unfortunately. So tonight the kids opted for their favorite pasta instead.

Meg has a spelling test tomorrow, so she was hard at work studying. We took a practice test and she ACED it!! She tries so hard and we are so proud of her.

Suessical...Preschool edition...

I didn't get to post did these yesterday, but I swear I took them yesterday. Cole made a Dr. Suess hat at school yesterday and he looked so cute in it while he smacked his gum and bounced around to some music I had playing. He is so darn cute, idn't he? Please excuse the mess, yes, that is Christmas wrapping paper he is sitting on!

Everything is coming up roses...

I went to Sam's today and they always have the prettiest roses. $14.50 for 2 dozen, how can you not buy them? I liked these because they were different. I played around with these images so they wouldn't be so much alike too.

Redecorating?...

So I decided to give the den a little face-lift today. I am trying to add a little color, but I'm not completely in love with the results. Maybe it will grow on me. If not, I have all the receipts and I haven't taken the tags off yet!!
