Day 87

Under pressure...

Today was Megan's choir performance at the art festival at the high school and to say she was nervous would be and understatement.

Poor thing looked miserable the whole time! Then we went and looked at her artwork that was displayed, but I didn't think to take any pics of that...DOH!

Day 86

Texas Sunset...

I really did not think it would be this hard to keep up with this blog. I couldn't let another day pass so I stepped out my front door and snapped this. So peaceful.

Day 84

Whoo hoo!!...

I am finally caught up with all my posting now!!
And lookie, look...after 10 years of marriage, we finally got a new fridge! I am so excited! This thing is AWESOME! I love, love, love it! 26 cu.ft...I can effectively go to Sam's now, how great is that?

Day 82 & 83

Swim Team...
Ok, so I took Monday off from my camera too..haha.

The girls decided to join the swim team this summer and today was their first day of practice! In the beginning L was very excited and couldn't wait to kick, kick, kick!

Then it was time to go backwards and she was no so thrilled about that. But she gave it her all and finished the length of the pool after some coaxing.

By the time it was Meg's turn to practice, the weather had definitely gotten worse; very windy and threatening to storm.

The practice went for 45 minutes and she was too exhausted to finish. I think she will do much better tomorrow now that she knows what to prepare for!

Day 80 & 81

Wedding...

These break my natural light rule, but oh well. They are from one of my favorite client's wedding. It was a lot of fun, but weddings can be soooo stressful! Obviously this was her cake.
And this was the invitation they had matted and framed for people to sign. A very nifty idea!
I love this shot and I hope they do too! Of course, I took Sunday totally off from my camera and everything so this will have to do for the whole weekend!

Day 78 & 79

Field day...

This was L's first field day and she had a BLAST!! She even came in second in the girls' 200 meter race! I had no idea she could run that fast!

Yum! Green Popsicles!

In action, with the cup relay! Meg's field day was later in the day and daddy took lots of pics of that too which came out great!!

Day 77

Love 12x18s!...

Its like Christmas around here! I got my 12x18s in and the frames came a couple days later. T put them together for me last night and I LOVE them! I can't wait to get them hung in the hallway upstairs!!

Day 76

Demb flash...

I ordered this the other day after reading how much better it is than the other flash diffuser I use. I must say, their customer service is wonderful. Mr. Demb called me himself because I had messed up my order and offered to ship this next day for me. Unfortunately, I am not as happy with it as I am with what I currently use. Maybe with some practice...hmmmm.

Day 75

Big Things on the Horizon...

This morning T had and interview on the radio for Cool Rules with the biggest Christian Radio station in the nation. He had to leave before the sun, but L heard it on her alarm and they replayed it at about 8:30am too. He will have a big lunch this afternoon too with a local celebrity who is interested in lending a hand with promoting it. I pray this is just the start of wonderful things to come.

Day 74

Texas Wildflowers...

We braved a 45 minute drive with three kids to get some shots of the bluebonnets this afternoon. Lets just say the flowers were much more cooperative than the light and the subjects. Not a cloud in the sky and no shade to be found.

A bunch that Meg had picked for me. The Indian Paintbrushes are so pretty and add a punch of color to the field of blue. Only for another week or so though and then they'll disappear til next spring.

Day 73

Another chilly weekend...

I feel like I need to check a map to see if I really do live in Houston, and make sure it really is the middle of April. This is crazy! I know I will be begging for weather like this come the triple digit readings of August though.

Day 72

Another gadget...

I got this polarizing filter in today, I hope it helps with my outdoor stuff. I struggle with outdoor natural light so much and it is frustrating to say the least. I will try it on Sunday since that is rumored to be the next nice day outside.

Eeegads...Its Friday the 13th!!

Day 71

Face Lift...

My wonderful husband is redesigning my site for me and so far we have gotten the splash page done. I really hope to have the whole thing up and running soon, but I appreciate all the work he is doing for me!

Day 70

Love these...

I just love these albums! I use them for everything and I just finished one up today for a client to pick up tomorrow so I snapped a quick pic for today. Off to see who got the boot on AI!!

Day 69B

Go Fly a Kite..

At Meg's request, I took a few more pictures for today of her flying a kite after school. It was the perfect day for it! Nice wind, not too hot...PERFECTO!

She controlled the kite really well, too. Now, if God would just let me have a whole summer of weather like this... ahh, a girl can dream!

Day 69

For Now...

Finally caught up with my proofing, I decided to straighten up my desk. The mountain of dust and papers on it was embarrassing. This may not look all that clean but what I am not showing is the desk right next to mine where all the piles of junk landed! One day (or desk) at a time.

Monday, April 9, 2007

Day 68

Texas Tea..

Nope, it's not oil, but I found this great tea cup at Wal-Mart the other day. I have a couple other over-sized tea cups, but obviously this one was special! I can't wait to put it to use! Now all I need is a little baby boy to put in it...any volunteers??

Day 67

A Chilly Easter...

We had record-breaking low temperatures this Easter so most of the day's festivities remained indoors. I guess the kids' Easter dresses will have to wait until next Sunday when Spring returns.

After baskets were discovered and Bibles read, the kids put their sweats on and it was off to Granny and Chippy's for yummy Easter ham and more eggs!

Day 66

Paintin Easter Eggs...

I think it must have taken more than a dozen hand washings and a bath to get the dye off everyone's hands, not to mention the bleach for the counter tops!! But the most important part was that everyone had fun!

The finished products were still not dry the next day! (OK, a little teeny tiny cheat...this pic was actually taken a day later).

Day 65

Chick's Nite Out...

Me and these three lovely ladies had a wonderful night out on the town this evening. Thanks to a *donation*, we enjoyed a Broadway play and we loved it. The girls already had a taste of the theater with the ballet, so this was just a different side.
Can't get in without tickets..haha.

The Playbill, something that I hope in the near future they can start a collection of!

Thursday, April 5, 2007

Day 64

Turtles Everywhere...

Today's theme is turtles. This is Meg's turtle roaming around on the tile while I cleaned her bowl.

And Cole and Daddy went to see "Teen-age Mutant Ninja Turtles" at the movies. Not quite the kid-friendly flick they had hope for though, so be warned.

Day 63

Something different...

Tired of the same ole chicken breast, I pulled out my trusty 365 Ways to Cook Chicken Cookbook and me & T gave this one a whirl! I am notorious for overcooking so he manned the chicken while I gathered the ingredients and the rice! It was good enough to highlight to remember for next time.

Day 62

A tasty treat

Smart food?? Who are they kidding? This stuff has so much fat it, but I just can't help it...it is soooooo goood!!
Obviously! haha! This stuff is a big mover in this house. Me & Meg fight over it!

Day 61

So nifty...
This is a salad spinner that I got from Wal-Mart for a whole $2.97!! It is terrific! No more patting down lettuce after washing it!
See, nice clean lettuce ready for some Caesar fixins!

Day 60

Yuck...

I guess spring has sprung. This creature has been living in the backyard for quite a while. You can't tell it here because his legs were all curled up from the poison but they were about an inch long. YUCK!
