Day 150

Invitationals!...

Today was a terrific day for Lauren. She went to invitationals and placed SIXTH in her age group! It was also the first two of Meg's volleyball games but L and I weren't able to be there. T said that they won one and lost one, but that she did fabulous...no surprise there! Cole had his basketball game too and they won so it was a really great day for the entire family...WHOOOT!

Day 149

Pure joy...

I am back in the game. I needed to brush up on my high key and last night Lauren got her swim team trophy along with winning an additional TWO more so she was more than willing to help mommy out. In fact, BOTH my girls won for most improved girl in their age groups and we are so very proud of how hard they have worked. Maybe I will have Meg give me a hand tomorrow with her trophies, but she is slightly more camera shy than her sister.

Days 144-148

Stressed Out...

Too much stress. Too little time. So much is going on right now, that I haven't even wanted to move let alone take pics of anything. I really need to shake it off. Whatever doesn't kill you makes you stronger, right? Tomorrow is another day, Scarlett? Yada..yada..yada.

Day 143

Not one, but TWO!...

Nope, divisionals did not go well for either of my girls today; instead of dropping time, they gained it in almost all of their events. Meg took almost a second off her freestyle but it wasn't enough to qualify to go to invitationals with her sister, but you know what? They worked really hard and both of them had an amazing first season. Way to go, girls! We are so proud of both of you! Today had some great news though...
Lauren's bottom two front teeth have been loose for what feels like forever and today they BOTH came out (with an assist from dentist Mommy)! I am glad they come out today, the girls were pretty down and they needed something to lift their spirits and this was just the thing!

Day 142

Getting Ready...

The day before divisionals. Megan had an extra-long private lesson today to get ready for divisionals tomorrow. She was the first alternate in the A Medley Relay and we knew she would have to swim it so she was very nervous about her backstroke. She only had a little time she needed to drop to qualify for an invitational meet and she had worked extra hard all week. We will keep our fingers crossed for tomorrow. I had planned on brushing up on my high key today, but the day got away from me (as usually happens on fridays) and I didn't even pick up my camera.

Day 141

Just for the fun of it...

We all went to the pool this evening to relax a little. The girls have been practicing constantly so tonight they just played. Lauren was in full flirt mode with one little boy at the pool, she is so cute!
Cole was having a swell time in the baby pool with his new friends.
And Megan brought another friend from the swim team with her and it was lucky that we bought four water guns because they all got a workout tonight!

Day 140

V-Ball...

Tonight was Meg's first volleyball practice and it was a little frustrating for her at first. Most of the girls were both older than her and had been playing for two or more seasons longer than her. The coach took her aside and showed her basic techniques and helped her with her serve. After the girls practiced for a while, they scrimmaged against the 15 year-olds and wouldn't you know it, one of Meg's serves made it over the net! Way to go, Meg!

Day 139

B-ball...

Tonight was Cole's first basketball practice and having daddy as a coach my prove a challenge for both of them. Tomorrow we will be going out and getting a bigger basketball hoop for him and a clipboard and whistle for Coach Daddy!

Day 138

Butterfly...whoops!

How bad is it when you are a photographer and you get so caught up in photographing everyone else's kids that you forget your own? I feel terrible. Tonight was the make-up for Saturday's weather postponement and I got this terrific picture of Meg before she swam and none of her actually swimming.
Cole looked so cute sipping his Fanta that I had to get a quick one of him too!

Day 137

Happy Father's Day!

Just T & the kids today in honor of Father's day! I snapped this just before leaving to go to my dad's for dinner. It was raining and gross outside so only indoor fun today...bummer.

Day 136

Second Place Finish!...

Wow! This little star went from being the slowest swimmer on the team, never having had a successful swim lesson to being the FASTEST on the time in about seven weeks!! We couldn't be prouder of our little Boo! Unfortunately, the meet got called for nasty weather so my superstar in the butterfly, Miss Muffin, will have to wait til Mon. evening to swim, so Monday's blog will be about her (if the weather permits).

Day 135

Mommy-to-be...

I was so glad to be able to photograph this woman's first pregnancy. She was a little hesitant about them at first, but I showed her some of the shots in camera and then she was excited.

This is my favorite so far, but then again, I have only proofed about five!

Day 134

No Autographs, Please!...

Meg was listening to her new favorite singer, Taylor Swift, on iTunes after swim team practice and decided to give us a little "performance". Daddy even video-taped it, I can't wait to show the teenage boyfriend someday (should he make it past the front door)!

Day 133

My young lady...

My goodness, she gets more lovely every day, my precious Megan. Those freckles and blue eyes just get me every time. I can't believe she is going to be in Intermediate School next year. Where goes the time go? Here she is being a little playful!

And here is a more "serious" side to Meg (if there is such a thing!). I think she really just wanted me to leave her be and let her watch her show.

Day 132

Awe...

Widdle schmoopy had hurt his foot on a chair and he was one unhappy camper.

Thank goodness, he has one older sister who wubs him lots and cheered him right up with a kiss and a smile!

Day 131

Not feeling good...

I had every intention of taking a picture for today, but I started to feel yucky and crashed out early.

Day 130

The aftermath...

Today I didn't even want to move. The day after a swim meet is always so hard. Thankfully, there is no swim practice on Sundays or Mondays. I finished my book today while I got my nails done and then I came home and started another one. Later will be the Sopranos finally and then BED!

Day 129

Another Saturday, Another swim meet...

So, here it is, another Saturday. Only two more meets and it's all over. No more practices 4 days a week at 7:00am. No more swim meets that start at 6:30am and last til 2:00pm. Ahhh, sleep, I look forward to seeing you again...ha-ha!

Day 128

Hectic...

I have found that both the day before a meet and they day after, I rarely want to shoot anything at all. Today was spent getting ready for the big day tomorrow. Only two more swim meets left and then Volleyball starts for Meg and Basketball starts for Cole.

Thursday, June 7, 2007

Day 127

Can I come too...

Since the girls had private lessons again today and it was overcast and windy, I decided to let Cole come with us and swim too. He made some new friends in the baby pool but I am hoping seeing his sisters will inspire him to venture into the big pool soon.

Whew. All caught up...until tomorrow.

Day 126

But mommy...

It was ten minutes until midnight and I thought I would have nothing for another day, but suddenly a little man appeared at the top of the stairs. "I just want to visit with you and daddy for a little while cus I'm not tired" was what he had to say.
So off to our bedroom for some cuddle time and I snapped some shots for today while it was still officially today!!

Day 125

So tired...

After swim team practice and private lessons; running errands; and proofing all day, I was just too pooped to want to pick up my camera. I still have more than 400 swim meet shots waiting for me..ugh, a lot of work. I enjoy it so that makes it worth the time I spend and the agony of body aches the day after the meet! So, I am cheating and just sticking up one of Meg from the meet up. One of the moms was doing all the girls' hair and Meg just LOVED it!

Monday, June 4, 2007

Day 124

Wonder kid!

Lauren cleaned the playroom all by herself today. Everything was put away exactly where it belonged and neatly. She even vacuumed! Unfortunately, the playroom has been "closed" for one week to teach the kids the importance of taking care of their things. We will see how successful a lesson it is.

Day 123

I needed this...

Afer a long day yesterday, I needed one of these to go with the 2nd to last Sopranos this evening. I don't know what we will do with ourselves when its over. I guess we'll have to buy the box set and start over!

Day 122

Accidental...

This shot was an accidental shot, but I still thought it was pretty cool.

Day 121

Whoops...

I had taken some pictures at the swim pep rally and a birthday party for today, but then I accidentally wiped them off my card. That really bites.
