Day 58

Party on, Meg...

We got this banner printed for Meg's High School Musical party. Daddy hung it for her to see when she came in from school. Its so cute!
No party is complete without lots & lots of pizza!!

Yumm! Cake! I ended up going with a grocery store for the cake because the bakery I like to use was all booked for this weekend. I thought the cake was plain so I made these little pennants when we got home. I think they're kinda cute!

Day 57

B-E-A-U-tiful!...

After anxiously watching the front door and window all day, the UPS man finally arrived with my first canvas! Isn't it beautiful? Its a 24x30..whoohoo!
T hung it up as soon as I got back from showing our neighbors!

Day 56

Already on the phone...


Lauren wrote a list today of all her friends at school and their phone numbers. She so badly wanted to be able to talk to her friends like Meg does.

Unfortunately, no one was home tonight so she had to leave messages. :(

Jackpot!...

Happy Feet came out today so of course, we had to go out and get it along with some other "must have items".
A watch..because "Braden has one." I think he aged 3 years as soon as he put it on.
Yuuuummmm! Starburst are his favorites! Wow, those are some dirty little boy fingernails..haha!

GQ..what a little handsome dude! He just melts me.

Day 54

Good morning, sunshine...

Its Monday again and time for back to school. Yum, blueberry waffles for breakfast today.

"Mommy, you're too close" was the response I got when I took this picture.

Last bite and its off to brush teeth & hair and get ready for school!

Day 53

Another year...

33 today or is it 34? I think I have hit the age where its all the same anyway. Its now so bad that I have to subtract the year I was born from the current year to figure it out! 33 it is!! After a lovely dinner with my husband last night and some time to ourselves, I am looking forward to picking up our kids. I miss them and it will be nice to have them home. Bye-bye peace and quiet, hello chaos!

Day 52

Ahhh, sleep...

WOWZA!! We actually got up about 20 minutes before this, but it was peaceful to not have a dog or kiddos waiting for their breakfast. By tomorrow, I will miss the noise though.

Buh-bye...


Well, the kiddos went off to Granny & Chippy's right after school today so we have peace and quite for about 36 hours...SRAIGHT! Whooo hoooo!!

Almost there...

Well, after trying for a full day not to have to upgrade my operating system, we broke down and intalled XP and then spent the rest of the day with updates and other installations. I know it will be worth it in the end...right??

Never as easy as you think...


My computer had been running so slow that my wonderful husband decided it was time for some new hardware. Then that harware needed more new hardware and on it goes...

No idea what these parts are, but oh well..haha.

Nitroade...

After three Wal-marts and a Target, we finally found the coveted, Nitroade today! Cole was so happy! His Cars collection is complete..life is good!

High tech girl stuff...

We bit the bullet and let Meg have a computer in her room with some serious restrictions on it's use. Of course, its pink...what else??
Her pink keyboard came in today along with a...

pink light-up mouse. Now she has two mice! :)

Day 46

Yum...

Today was the last day of Spring Break and I had been meaning to do this all week. A friend told me about making cupcakes in ice cream cones so the kids gave it a whirl today. Cole dumped the mix, Lauren the oil, and Meg the water.

Then they all took turns with the mixer. There's Lauren behind the bowl, waiting patiently for her turn.

Ahhh, the finished product! Is it a cupcake or is it ice cream? Either way, it was delicious!

Day 45

More Beauty...


Today we broke out the face paints and painted all available skin surfaces..haha. Meg did the cross on her hand, but asked me to do her arms.
Meg did the butterfly on Lauren's cheek.

Even daddy got in on the fun! Lauren painted a sun in his cheek and a flower on his foot (think she was trying to tell him something?). Meg made an attempt at the Superman logo on the other cheek and he had polka dots on his forehead courtesy of Cole.

Day 44

Day of Beauty...


For Christmas, Daddy let Meg get her hair highlighted. Well, it wasn't *enough* so we said that for her birthday she could go a little bit lighter and chunkier. I hadn't heard the end of it since March 1st, so we went today!

Lauren got a trim too, Nikki always makes sure she straightens it for her too.

And to end the day right, PEDICURES!!

Day 43

Chalk...

Who doesn't love a brand spankin new set of sidewalk chalk for 3 bucks?? So colorful and neat...not for long.

Our resident artist couldn't wait to get outside with it. Since the sun came back today with not a cloud in sight, how could we say no?

Day 42

Storming...

After a week of beautiful weather, the bottom fell out today. It stormed and stormed all day. The power blipped a few times and it was pretty dark for a bit. Kinda yuck for Spring Break, but the sun is expected back tomorrow, I hope so anyway.

Day 41

Sanctuary...

Megan's room is sooo different now. She got a desk for her birthday. No more Barbies, no more toys. It hurts.

She loves to collect white tigers from the circus every year when she goes with Granny & Chippy.

Turtle Kong..what a hoot. I never knew turtles had so much personality!!

What girls do best...

Shop, of course!! Meg just couldn't wait 24 hours to spend that birthday money so off we went to the mall!

You can't go to the mall and not get pizza!

And you can't go to the mall without your best friend...its just not done.

Day 39

A decade has passed...

My precious muffin is ten years old today. I couldn't believe when I found out I was pregnant with her. She is the first of three of the best gifts God could've have trusted me with. She is growing up so fast. All she wanted was to go out to dinner with all of her family (us, Granny & Chippy, and Papa & Meme) and her best friend, RayAnn, and her family. Then we went for ice cream. She'll have a slumber party with a few more of her friends at the end of the month.

Presents, presents, presents.

She has been desperate for aquamarine stuff so we surprised her with the real thing.

What pre-teen doesn't like a crisp bill for her birthday? Its already burning a hole in her pocket.

A new bike. Granny & Chippy came over early to take her out and let her pick it herself. They tried to play a joke on her by printing out a little girls' Barbie bike and telling her they had ordered that one for her. But this kid, she is so terrific; she just smiled and said "cool, thank you."
