RayRay turns 14

Where does the time go? When R's family moved in two houses down from us, M was eight years old, the same age L is now. We have seen her through Intermediate School and now Junior High; through braces and no braces; highlights to no highlights; first boyfriends and first break-ups; Good grades and not so great ones and we have loved her through it all. In the four years that we have known them, we have become family to each other and when we were making the decision whether or not to move, they were certainly a big factor. We promised to not let the distance (even if only minutes) change us. I miss being able to walk across the street and chat and I know our boys miss each other lots. Not a birthday goes by that we don't either go out or order in the obligatory bday dinner and last night was no exception, Happy Birthday RayRay..cha-cha-cha!
After I was informed by our way too cool to be waiting tables waiter that they didn't sing happy birthday, the little ones at the table were more than happy to pick up the gauntlet and run with it.
Getting louder and louder with each line...

R decided to pass on the pazookie, but as you can see there were more than enough takers to pick up her slack and in about 5 minutes...
L was scraping out the bits that remained.
I am so glad that the age difference has not come between them too much. R is never embarrassed to say one of her bffs is two years younger than her and so far all of her friends have been completely cool with that.

I don't think we could have anyone better in our lives! Thank you for being who y'all are and for being such a big part of us. We truly feel like all of you are family and would not have it any other way! ;)
