Day 474

I needed this...
I have been so incredibly busy lately that I feel like I might get it all finished if I just skipped sleeping. Just think, I could get a whole seven hours more into my day. Even when I am sleeping, my mind is usually racing with all the tasks that await when the sun comes up. Tonight I decided I needed to relax and not being one to pop a pill, I poured my assistance instead. It's a real tragedy there wasn't time enough for a bubble bath.
Now before you get all crazy and think that I drank half the bottle this evening, I have been working on this bottle for about a week or more.

Day 473B

One less...
Kris Evans, dds. L is so terrified to pull her own teeth that I have had to yank them every time. Tonight we saw how loose it was and were afraid she would bite into something and swallow it. She screamed and hollered and begged me not to, but did I stop? You know better than to ask! Well, she was so busy screaming that she didn't even notice that I had already pulled the tooth out! She laughed so hard that she couldn't stop crying. Obviously, she survived. She is up to three lost teeth and a couple more are still loose. She knows she gets bonus money for the front ones so she's working them with extra gusto!

When she wakes up in the morning, the cold hard cash under that pillow will have been worth it.

Day 473

Broken...
Had it for two months and now it won't focus either in auto focus (won't move at all) or manual (doesn't want to move) so it is going to see the Canon physicians and I am bummed. Hopefully they will simply replace it and I will get a new one very soon. In some ways I am glad it happened now since I really don't rely on this lens during this time of the year so I have a while before I will actually need it.
Can you see where the "L" red ring meets up perfectly with the text above it? That's what it should look like.
This is the other side of the lens where it would appear to be separated. Strange.
I took this one just to show that there is no cosmetic damage which would be present if it had been damaged by dropping it.

Day 472

Outside...
What should you do when it is 78ish degrees outside in the latter part of April in North Houston? Helloooo..you go out and play! This weather is just amazing. How do you make them come in when there's a high-stakes volleyball game going in the front yard? I guess you just keep snapping until they are too tired to play anymore so here are lots to show! I can't help but laugh every time I see how M turns her jeans into "capris!" LOL!!

A couple of my goofy girl!
W is for winner...ha-ha!
Ugh...pre-teens! I asked her if she was happy and she asked, "uh huh, can't you tell?" I thought I would spit my drink all over the keyboard!! THIS is happy??

Day 471

Smokin hot engagement...
A photographer friend, Christie, and I did an engagement shoot in downtown Houston this evening and we had a blast. We discovered that we work very well together and I am a terrible driver (even with a gps). Christie will be shooting this couple's wedding with me in July and I can't wait. The location has some really cool amenities that are just ripe with possibilities! I posted more on my biznis blog, but here's a fridge shot that didn't make it on that blog!

Day 470

Champion...
Holy cow! M has been in a volleyball clinic for two hours a day, two days a week with tournaments on Saturdays for the month of April and today was the final tournament and guess what...SHE WON! I am so flippin proud of her! I wasn't able to go and daddy forgot the camcorder, but maybe that took some of the pressure off. Her team was terrific and they played really well together. Here is my superstar!

Day 469

Careless...
You are not going to believe this. I am so mad at myself I can hardly speak right now. I actually took pics today of M's 5th grade performance and then used the same card for a session. Well, I got the files off from the session and then formatted it for the next. I completely forgot the images from her program were on it. I could cry. I was in a hurry in between sessions and was careless. I have no idea how I am going to tell her. There should have been a pic for today and now because of my stupidity, there isn't.

Day 468

Remembrance...
A friend of sorts lost her sister less than a year ago and every time I smell roses, I can't help but think of her. Last night when I was trimming these to put in my pitcher (not a believer in boring old vases), she was on my heart and I wanted to post these for her and let her know in my own way that she continues to be in my prayers. May both you and sister find peace in Him.

Day 467

Refreshing...
Picked up a big 'ole package of these delicious drinks today. I love, love, love green tea. The citrus flavor adds just the right kick of flavor. YUM! Go get some, right now...go and then kick back this weekend and enjoy while bbq'ing in the back yard! You know you want some!

Day 466

Girlish details...
As I sat here proofing, the way L's earring hung from her ears caught my attention. All the small details to being a girl. Her delicate profile and her toes in desperate need of a pedicure which are in her favorite flip flops and her beautiful full hair inverted in her ponytail. All of these little things make her my little boo. So today's post is more for me, but maybe those of you with daughters, small or grown, will get it.

Day 465B

Spring Sing...
Tonight was C's spring program at school and he was so excited! I love watching all the little sign language motions the kids' music teacher teaches them. Oh so sweet!
Every program begins with the Pledge of Allegiance and the National Anthem which my little man loves to practice all the time.

Dimples...
He was so proud of himself when it was over. My sweet boy.

Day 465

Bummer...
A couple of my fellow photogs know how jazzed I was about trying out a new canvas company that catered to professional photographers and print shops so I sent in one of the pictures I had recently taken of M as a test. They were just as anxious as me to see how it turned out. All I can say is boy am I glad I sent in a sample print first. The quality is terrible. The stretching is loose, frame is far too thin, print itself is substandard and the finished product was damaged and marked up on arrival. I would never ever give this to a client. Needless to say, I am disappointed. As in everything else in life, you get what you pay for.
Tiny, non-existent weave.
Sloppy wrap job...
Look! Pre-damaged to save you the trouble!
No detail whatsoever, looks like a cheap print from a home printer...
Way too small "stretcher" bars...

Day 464

Seniors rock...
I love seniors, but then I've had a soft spot for teenagers for many years. They are brutally honest and serve as great lie detectors. They can smell a phony from 50 feet away and I respect that. If you're real with them, they respond in kind. Jut a couple from me tonight. There are more on my business blog, but I am pooped! Off to put my feet up, watch some housewives and maybe have some popcorn!

Day 463

Reward...
Little L has been such a great help the past couple of weeks, coming with me and keeping little ones occupies during sessions. From blowing bubbles, playing hide and seek to even reading to them and just keeping them company, she has been amazing. This afternoon she had some artwork on display at the school art festival so she and I went up to see it and spend some time together.
She got her face painted and had a cupcake that the high school kids were selling to raise money for various activities.
Before heading home, we made a stop at Academy to get some new running shoes for me and we got to looking at the bikes. Well, my little one has been growing a bit lately and has been longing for a bigger bike so....we got one! Better still was that it wouldn't fit in the trunk and had to go in the back seat so she got to ride in the front (in her booster of course)!! I don't know which was better, the bike or the ride home in the front!
